thinking service

At PBC our belief is that all ministry involves relationship, communication, Biblical knowledge, an understanding of the people we are serving, and a personal desire to reflect Christ into any given situation.  One of our top priorities is to provide people not just with knowledge but with transferable skills as they go into ministry, making each graduate immediately effective.

Our Distinctive Strengths

Ministry Options

PBC focuses the students learning experience through one of five Ministry Options.  This allows the student to achieve the desired outcomes for the ministry area that God has called them to.  Both the Degree and Advanced Diploma courses focus studies in one of five different ministry areas:

  • Pastoral Ministry
  • Pastoral Counselling
  • Youth Ministry
  • Cross-Cultural Ministry
  • Creative Ministry

On top of these five Ministry Options PBC offers other elective units designed to meet the modern demands and growth in minsitry areas.  Some of these areas include:

  • Chaplaincy
  • Christian Education
  • Bible Languages

All of PBC's courses (apart from Diploma of Ministry with English Studies) allow for students to take elective units from the different ministry areas to structure their course to best suit their ministry outcome desires.

Practical Learning Environment

PBC offers students an environment which encourages involvement with ministry as they become a part of the College community.  The College community provides students with opportunities to participate in small student discussion groups outside of the classroom, lead devotions, share in ministry forums, be involved in actively serving one another.  The annual PBC retreat offers students an opportunity to build deeper friendship with each other that become invaluable as they journey together in both learning and ministry.  Units as much as possible provide opportunities for students to put what they learn in the class-room into practice such as Christian Communication students teaching CRE in schools or Chaplaincy students being involved with the Street Chaplaincy ministry in Northbridge and the CBD.  PBC has also over the past 3 years conducted four overseas mission trips, and plans to continue to offer this opportunity to students to provide a wider exposure to the work of mission around the world.

Equipping to Equip others

At PBC we empower and equip students with the tools and skills to train and develop others in their faith and ministry.  Embedded in our training are the following three core components that we believe are essential in preparing our students for a life of serving Christ

Encounter(Knowing God):

We aim at providing students with the opportunity to come to encounter the living God through worship, prayer, College life, and through having a solid understanding of his revelation to us in Scripture.  Students will also be taught to interpret God's Word faithfully and theologically.

Embody (Reflecting Christ):

PBC provides constant opportunities for the training to impact the student’s lives, so that they are not only informed but transformed to reflect more of Christ’s character. This occurs through the course content, the College community life and practical involvement in church ministry.

Engage (Serving with Love):

We prepare students for a Biblical ministry.  This enables them to view people with eyes of faith, to offer themselves in authentic relationship and service, to understand the reality of this world, and to engage the world with God's love.  Students are equipped to be effective communicators of God's truth in many contexts and given the relevant practical skills for a life of ministry.

Studying at Perth Bible College

We are excited that you are considering studying at Perth Bible College (PBC). Studying for Christian Ministry is challenging and rewarding. Giving your life in the service of others is a calling to follow Christ. We at PBC are thrilled when anyone chooses to pursue this path in life. And because we know you have not taken the decision of Bible College lightly we want to say at the outset that we commit ourselves to the development of each student. Both in their progress spiritually and academically.

The college has a reputation for successfully blending practical career orientated ministry skills, accredited academic theological studies, and life transforming aspects into its tertiary courses. This is a balance, which we believe each student needs to be most effective in their future ministry and service for Christ.

At the core of our commitment to you is our belief that all ministry involves relationships, communication, biblical knowledge, an understanding of the people we are serving, and a personal desire to reflect Christ into any given situation. To this end, our studies not only provide a deep Biblical understanding but also the necessary skills to communicate, relate well and to understand culture. Also, one of our top priorities is to provide people not just with knowledge but transferable skills as they go into ministry, making each graduate immediately effective. Further, the college experience at PBC provides a loving and supporting community in which we encourage one another to move forward to be more like Christ.

I look forward to seeing you at PBC and pray that God clearly encourage you as you seek to follow him.

Our Distinctive Strengths

At Perth Bible College, as well as nurturing students for their own growth and ministry, we empower and equip them with the tools and skills to train and develop others in their faith and ministry. Embedded in our training are the following core commitments to our students: Biblical understanding, character transformation, and effective communication.

Biblical Understanding (Know):

We aim at providing students with a Biblical foundation to know Scripture and interpret it faithfully and theologically. This learning always includes the development of the relevant practical skills for ministry.

Character Transformation (Love):

PBC provides constant opportunities for the training to impact the student’s character, so that they are not only informed but transformed to reflect more of Christ’s character. This occurs through the course content, the college community life and practical involvement in church ministry.

Effective Communication (Serve):

We prepare students for a Biblical ministry, enabling them to become effective communicators of God's truth, whether in a one to one or small group situation, or preaching to a large crowd. PBC therefore emphasises the need for all students to be trained to become clear and effective communicators in all forms of ministry.
