Supervised Field Education Units

Supervised Field Education A and B

At Perth Bible College, we believe that the church and the academic institutions which train her future leaders must stand in a symbiotic relationship to each other. Academic training that is not thoroughly grounded in the real world in which the church has to operate, often leads to the disillusionment and failure of those sent out to serve in the church. Practical skills training without a broad theoretical base by which the existing status quo may be challenged in the light of the Word of God, in turn, often leads to stagnation and death. Perth Bible College endeavours to combine the highest academic standards with practical training in ministry. For this reason, the field education component spans the entire length of study at PBC. It is designed to help the student gain clear insights into the practical operations of the church in the world. At the same time, it wishes to instil the necessary skills in the students to not only work for the church, but also on the church. In order for the field work experience to be the most fruitful, students are required to build an ongoing relationship with the pastor and leaders of the church in which they worship. The insights of those who are already doing the work are invaluable. Opportunities to serve in the church always remain a privilege and are never something that should be taken for granted.
