Training People for Ministry in Non-Congregational Settings
Chaplaincy Specialisation is available in all our Ministry courses: Undergraduate Certificate in Ministry, Diploma of Ministry, Bachelor of Ministry and Graduate Diploma of Ministry.
To specialise in Chaplaincy as part of one of the ministry courses, study the following 4 units, each of 6 weeks duration, taken consecutively over 2 trimesters:

- CP551/851 Introduction to Chaplaincy
- CP552/852 Models of Chaplaincy
- CP553/853 Chaplaincy in Context
- CP554/854 Personal and Professional Care of The Chaplain
These units can be completed from anywhere in Australia. Students will participate in 2.5-hour online weekly seminars or regular online tutorial sessions depending on their study mode. Along with the seminars or tutorial sessions, students will complete 5 hours of placement/service in a chaplaincy context each week.
The topics include “respond to client needs”, “work with people with mental health issues”, and “competency in providing Pastoral care”, ensuring that the requirements for the Australian Government School Chaplaincy Program are met.
The course can be taken for credit towards a PBC Award in Ministry (undergraduate or postgraduate), or it can be completed as a professional development activity.
