How our Christian Counselling course
shaped PBC alumni

Bachelor of Counselling alumni Lewis, Azariah and Gg say that they were inspired to choose Christian counselling as a career by a need to serve God by helping others struggling emotionally, physically, psychologically and spiritually.

Azariah was drawn to PBC’s reputation in quality theological education and the opportunity to practise Christian counselling in a professional and ministerial capacity.

Lewis was encouraged by the multicultural and interdenominational approach of the college, and Gg enrolled at PBC based on a recommendation by family friends.

Why we chose PBC and why you should choose it too

“It is a place where you are trained to understand, think and respond to what you have been taught with what you believe to be true. PBC helps us as students to not only think academically but spiritually too by being rooted in God and His Word,” says Azariah.

Gg knows PBC as a well-established Christian institution that has been training and equipping students for ministry and Christian counselling for over 90 years, and Lewis appreciates the student-centred learning environment at PBC.

“The lecturers are highly qualified with decades of experience and are exceptionally supportive. The environment is welcoming and nurturing,” says Gg.

How PBC equips students to serve God's purposes in our generation

Much like Azaria’s contribution to this article, she too was inspired by alumni testimonials and the contribution these individuals are making in their communities.

She says that PBC has equipped her to serve God’s purpose in her community by providing help from the lecturers, online utilities and staff to attain and retain information. “What I learned and how I learned with PBC was vital for my counselling career.”

Gg believes that PBC did more than shape the students intellectually and equip them with the skills necessary for counselling. It also enabled students to learn through a biblical lens, helping them to view life differently.

“I have been inspired to uphold my commitment to Christ, to assess my relationships, and to invest in my spiritual growth.”

Lewis believes PBC empowered him to be “effective and fruitful in ministry.”

“The thing I loved most about PBC was the environment. We have a Christian community on campus, support from the lecturer, lovely students and fellowship. It has encouraged me to feel part of the community.”
